What is Tapsnapp?

Tapsnapp is an online platform to help you easily find, book and securely pay for the photographer you want, based on your type of shoot, location, and requirements.

What if I'm not happy with the photos that I received from the photographer?

You can lodge a dispute with us within 7 days of delivery of the photos and we will mediate between you and the photographer to resolve the issue. Remember you do get the photos based on the budget and if you choose a higher rated professional you will almost always get the quality you expect. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

I am a good photographer! How do I sign up as a photographer?

You can sign up as a photographer by going down to the footer and select the link called "Become a Tapsnapp Photographer". Once you signed up, select your specialties, setup your portfolio and let the people find and book you!

Can I buy a shoot as a gift for someone else?

This is coming soon! For now you can directly book the shoot yourself and simply change the customer name details to the person you want to gift this to.

Can I recommend a photographer on Tapsnapp to someone else?

Of course you may. Simply go to the photographer’s profile page and click the share button. You will be able to share the photographer’s details to social media or via email.

How do I reschedule / cancel a booking?

Shoots can only be rescheduled or cancelled if you provide more than 5 days notice, and, if cancelled, you will be refunded fully. If the cancellation is within 5 days of the shoot, you will receive 50% of your money back. If you decide to cancel within 24 hours before the shoot after you have already paid, there will be no refund.

What is the difference between a normal shoot and an on-demand shoot?

The normal shoots are simply shoots booked with a 5 day or more notice. On-demand shoots are booked within 5 days notice and some photographers will charge a higher fee for shorter notices.

How does the payment work?

We have devised a way to ensure that you get what you pay for. Once you and the photographer have confirmed the booking, you pay in full for the shoot via our secure payments platform using either your credit card or EFT. Once the photos have been delivered to you and you confirm delivery, then only will the money will be released to the photographer. Therefore if you don't get the photos delivered to you and/or the photographer was a no show, you get a full refund.

How do I know that the photographer I hire is legitimate and safe?

We always try to ensure the photographers listed are legitimate and professional for you. We also have some photographers that are "verified by Tapsnapp" that go through extra security checks. Look for the green tick next to their profile images. However, you should always make sure that the photographers that you hire have the experience and pedigree to do the job. Yes, the newer, younger photographers are cheaper but please do know that you do get what you pay for. This is why the experienced photographers that charge more are usually always better to hire. Even though we cannot guarantee safety every time, we recommend meeting with your photographer in a safe, public space if you're not sure. If you think the photographer that we have isn't up to scratch nor professional, please do contact us about them immediately.

What if I can’t find a photographer who suits my needs?

We are constantly adding new photographers catering to different shoot types all over South Africa. If you are struggling to find somebody in your area, pop us an e-mail and we’ll see what we can do to best assist you.

How does Tapsnapp work?

You start by clicking the Book Now link. Next, select the style of photography that you require. Tell us when and where you need the photographer. And, then, specify all your criteria such as how many shots you require, the calibre of photographer you need, and how quickly you want the photos delivered. We will serve up the photographers who match your requirements with upfront pricing.You may pick the photographer you like and book immediately (pending confirmation from the photographer). You can also request an open proposal which invites the the matching photographers to bid for your work. Alternatively, if you know the name or profile link of the photographer you want, you can go directly to their page and book them.

Do I pay to find a photographer?

No. You can search for photographers as many times as you want for free. You only pay for the shoot when you book it.
